I found a link for this video and I thought it should be shared because their’s is a very moving story. You can see the BBC story here: news.bbc.co.uk This performance of Bernstein’s Mambo is the best and most awesome I’ve ever seen. All musicians should play with this gusto no matter what their age and income. Most of these players are from the poorest parts of Venezuela. Truly Amazing!!!
um, this is from West Side Story. not family guy. but Berstein wrote probably the hardest music in history and they did an AMAZING job. West Side Story is my favorite movie.
A Venezuelan orchestra playing music from an American musical written by a Jewish man who used an Englishman’s account of Italian lovers’ story updated to a struggle between whites and Puerto Ricans. IMHO a testimony to the absolute sanity and necessity of the arts. Note to parents: support the music programs in you local school!
I saw them with the other music students at my school. We (unlike basically everyone else) didn’t walk around the place the whole time! WE ACTUALLY STAYED IN OUR SEATS!
